Didgeridoo Class

Learn all of the basic playing techniques including animal sounds, creating rhythms and circular breathing. This class is for all ages and it's heaps of fun. If you don't have a didgeridoo then you can borrow one from us, no worries. Length of class is about 1 hour. All ages welcome, in fact, bring along all your family and friends! Stay for a bit after the class and check out all the new didgeridoos and gear.

Weekly Drum Circle
Every week in L.A. at REMO Drums

Didgeridoos and all other rhythm instruments welcome. Free Community Drum Circle at the REMO Recreational Music Center. No experience necessary. All ages and levels welcome. Drums provided by REMO. Tuesday drum circles are facilitated by Board Certified Music Therapists with experience creating and implementing programs using rhythm and percussion for rehabilitation, health maintenance, and life enhancement. Wednesday drum circles welcome all forms of musical expression and dance in an "open mike" setting with no facilitator.

15th Annual
In-Didj-In-Us Gathering

A 3-day campout with workshops, jams, performances, crafting, vending, sharing, and as much fun as you can shake your stick at. Hosted on private land. Totally free. Vegetarian meals provided. Attendance is limited to about 300 people, so reservations are accepted and appreciated. No booze and no dogs help keep the vibe safe and mellow. Totally volunteer and donation supported so bring your own ideas, props, towels, toys, camping gear, instruments, etc.

Instrument Jam

Every second Saturday of the month in Everett, WA, Pamela Mortensen hosts a didgeridoo and acoustic instrument jam at Zippy's Java Lounge in Everett, Washington, for folks who play didgeridoo, hand drums, shakers, rattles, flutes, ocarinas, , harmonicas, whatever you play. Informal Didgeridoo Class 3:30-4:15pm ($5 suggested donation). Didge and Acoustic Instrument Jam 4:30-7pm

This workshop will get you started on these techniques as well as breath control to give you more power for all of your playing. To get a head start check out the videos on WETdidgeridoo.com. This workshop will touch more deeply into what is available on the website as well as using the techniques in rhythmic playing. William has focused the last 2 years on developing these techniques as well as building didgeridoos specifically for them. His teachers include William Barton, Djalu Gurruwiwi and Ondrej Smeykal.

Drum•Dance•Didgeridoo Fest

World class eclectic performers from around the globe! Interactive workshops with drummers, didge players, craftsmen, dancers and more. Handmade instruments. Great food. Ancient Sounds

This ensemble creates inspiring, heart-felt music, typically with ethnic world and meditative new age themes. Native American & World flutes, didgeridoos, other ancient woodwinds, and ethnic percussion are combined with vocals, piano, synth, guitar, animals calls and other creative instruments to create the effects we wish. Our music is created for rejuvenation and enjoyment, behind which is a focused intention… to support our inner knowing, the unfoldment of innate creative talents, and to help discover and engage our mission here on Earth.

Experience heart music interwoven with ancient woodwinds & world instruments. Ancient Sounds is a World Ethnic music group, still in the process of forming, currently with Middle Eastern / East Indian / American Indian / African themes predominating.

They work in ensemble format with a core center group that specifically designs their music program for the desired sonic impact. They often host Special Guests to broaden their range of music and add dance or art elements.

Private Didgeridoo Lessons
Los Angeles, CA

Make an appointment with Barry Martin at L.A.Outback for personal didgeridoo instruction. Whether you're stepping in as a novice or with intermediate playing skills, you'll take away heaps of info, technique and encouragement.

Barry has taught hundreds of people to play over the years (including Jeff Probst of Survivor pictured here) and Ernie Fields who played on American Idol. He has also recorded didgeridoo for TV and film, and is currently the didgeridoo player heard in Outback Steakhouse commercials.
